COVID Information
COVID-19 has changed how many businesses operate. We have been approved by NWT Environmental Health to continue providing vet services, although there are restrictions and rules.
Medication pickups in Inuvik will be 'contactless'. A sanitized cooler will be placed at the pick-up location with medication inside. When providing vaccinations and emergency first aid we will sanitize before entering your home, and will wear masks. |
RULES FOR CLINICS - please read carefully.
Dr John will have arrived from Dawson, Yukon. He has been granted an exemption from self-isolation during work hours as he is an essential service provider. He will only be allowed at the clinic and at his accommodation (a private residence). We have strict protocols for staff and clients. Inuvik staff will also self-isolate for 2 weeks.
You must provide the FULL NAME and PHONE NUMBER of the person attending at the time of booking for contact tracing if necessary.
The location will still be at the Fire Hall, rear entrance (Kingmingya Rd and Reliance St). Please note the door will be LOCKED and you will be required to wait outside until we fetch you for your appointment.
Please do not attend the clinic if you have symptoms of COVID, have been in contact with someone with COVID or have travelled outside the territory in the last 14 days.
Only ONE PERSON will be allowed inside with an animal, which must be in a carrier or on a LEASH. (If you are bringing more than one animal you may have one person per animal for their comfort and everyone's safety).
You will be required to SANITIZE your hands with the provided sanitizer before you enter and when you leave.
You are required to wear a non-medical MASK or face covering. If you don't have one, you can buy one from us (limited supply).
Maintain 6 feet (2 metres) DISTANCE at all times when possible. There will be a taped off area in the room where you must remain when possible. If you need to restrain your animal that is ok.
Staff will be wearing masks, washing hands and sanitizing commonly touched areas frequently.
Please remember that this is a working fire hall, and we need to protect the health of our valuable firefighters, as well as our clients and staff.
DO NOT park in front of the bay doors or behind the bylaw truck, otherwise they cannot get out to attend emergencies,
Payment preferred through EMT to [email protected] password inuvik (include your name and your animal's name in the comments). We can also take credit card or cash. There is an additional 3% added to credit card payments to cover fees.
